Dig Local Wins Emmy for “Outstanding Commercial”
working with Asheville film company, Fiasco Pictures.

Asheville, NC, August 1, 2019
Dig Local’s video “24 Hours in Asheville” placed first in the Outstanding Commercial category for the 2019 Southeast Regional Emmy Awards. The video was filmed and produced by David Saich and Ben Mulkey of Fiasco Pictures in Asheville, North Carolina.

“When you’re up against big corporations with massive budgets including Aflac, Georgia Power, University of Alabama, and Ole Miss Sports, you think your chances of winning are pretty slim,” says Ted Pate, Dig Local Founder and CEO. “But we were definitely rich with local talent and content as the vibe of Asheville was captured beautifully by David and Ben.” The award-winning spot features many iconic Asheville places and people with cameos from craft beer pioneers, Billy Pyatt
and Oscar Wong, battling in a game of beer pong.

The award, presented annually in Atlanta, Georgia since 1974 by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Southeast Chapter, covered the entire 2018 calendar year. Awards are given to the best in TV, news, original programming, and promotional spots.
