This is the hottest valley of artists in all of Asheville and they'll be opening their studios and homes to you this weekend at the 4th annual Beaverdam Studio Tour. Twenty five artists working in Beaverdam Valley—plus five guest artists—are excited to welcome visitors to see their work, talk with them, and purchase handmade art and craft. 6) Paranormal Hiking
For centuries folks have claimed to have seen the mysterious "Brown Mountain Lights" — bright orbs that strangely appear between dusk and dawn and that are believed to be ghostly spirits of murder victims, fairies, UFOs 🛸 or extraterrestrials. A great place the look for these orbs is on the Hawksbill Mountain Trail. It's a 2.4 mile out and back trail located near Jonas Ridge. You'll find views of Linville Gorge from the top, perfect for looking for colorful leaves, and for those seeking spooky orb vibes!

12) Pumpkin Custard from Pad Thai AVL
Not a candy fan? Try Sankaya or Thai pumpkin custard. It's a Thai-style inside out pumpkin pie in which a lightly sweetened coconut milk and egg custard is steamed inside of a hollowed out pumpkin.
