Weinhaus is a family-run wine and beer shop at 86 Patton Avenue in downtown Asheville, selling good, fine and great wines since 1977. Dave Mallett founded it more than 45 years ago, and his son Hunt runs it now. The shelves carry wines from around the world and local Asheville beers, and the Cork and Keg Bar pours wine and beer by the glass. It's open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Local's Tip
Ask the staff for a bottle under your budget, they know the shelves well. The Cork and Keg Bar stays open late on Friday and Saturday, and it's closed Mondays.
