Huli Sue's BBQ & Grill is a family restaurant in the historic Grove Arcade at 1 Page Avenue in downtown Asheville, where Texas barbecue meets Hawaiian flavors. Owners Lisa and Ben moved here from Waimea on the Big Island in 2019, and the menu includes smoked barbecue, fresh fish, poke, island cocktails and big country cakes.
Save room for a slice of the big country cake. It's open noon to 8 PM Thursday through Monday and closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Locals love that you can get brisket and poke at the same table. It's a friendly, laid-back spot with a lot of aloha.
