Signs for Hope Marketplace is a gift shop on Old Charlotte Highway in Fairview, and 100% of what you spend goes to Signs for Hope, the Fairview nonprofit that supports Deaf children and their families around the world. Founder Becky Lloyd started the organization to help Deaf orphans find families, and the work now covers basic needs, sign language for families, sponsorships and adoption. The shelves mix goods from dozens of local makers, many of them from Fairview, with fair trade gifts from artisans around the globe. Think handmade soaps and lotions, pottery mugs, woodwork, local snacks and Fairview shirts. It's open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
