What you need to know

Justus Orchard is a five-generation family orchard at 187 Garren Road in Hendersonville, and the Justus family has grown apples here for more than 100 years. Fourth-generation grower Don Justus works the farm alongside the fifth generation. You can pick your own apples, or buy them already picked, along with peaches, blackberries and blueberries in season, and cut your own sunflowers and zinnias in summer. The bakery turns out cider donuts, and there's ice cream, a picnic area and a farm store stocked with jams and local goods. Kids can bounce on the jump pad, and the Justus Orchard Taproom pours on Fridays and Saturdays. The 2026 season opened July 2. Hours are Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday and Sunday 9 AM to 6 PM.

Local's Tip

Grab cider donuts warm from the bakery, then take them to the picnic area. Call (828) 974-1232 to check what's ready to pick before you head out.

What the locals say

Locals say it's an easygoing orchard, and repeat visitors come back for the cider donuts as much as the apples.
