The Reuter Family YMCA is a gym and community fitness center at 3 Town Square Blvd in Biltmore Park, off Long Shoals Road in south Asheville. It has an indoor pool with a water slide, a hot tub, sauna and steam room, a climbing wall, an indoor track, pickleball and basketball courts, a cycling studio and group fitness studios. It opened in 2003 and is run by the YMCA of Western North Carolina, a nonprofit.

No membership? You can get in with a guest pass or day pass. Household memberships include up to two hours of drop-in childcare, and the Y offers income-based rates so cost doesn't keep anyone out.

Biltmore Park neighbors walk over for morning lap swims, and families come back for open swim, the climbing wall and youth sports. After Hurricane Helene, the Y opened its doors to the public for more than 12,000 hot showers.
