What you need to know

Weaverville Tailgate Market is a producer-only farmers market at the Weaverville Community Center, 60 Lakeshore Drive, running since 2009. Every vendor grows, raises, bakes or makes what they sell, from vegetables, meat, eggs, cheese and seafood to bread, jams, plants and coffee. The regular season runs Wednesdays from 3 to 6pm, April through October, with vendors inside and outside the community center. Indoor holiday markets follow in November and December, and an indoor winter market runs January through March. SNAP shoppers get Double SNAP, and the market adds its own match on top.

Local's Tip

Many vendors take preorders through the market's website, so you can hold eggs, meat or bread before they sell out.

What the locals say

Regulars make it part of the weekly routine and plan Wednesday dinner around what they carry home. It's a small, friendly market, and the lake next to the community center makes it an easy afternoon walk.
