Tienda Hispana La Catrachita is a small Latin market at 791 Haywood Road in West Asheville. The family-run shop carries groceries imported from Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador, with spices, snacks, candy and cold drinks. It is best known for house-made tamales, sold fresh on Friday afternoons. It is open every day from 9 a.m., until 9 p.m. on Saturday.
