What you need to know

Studio A is Andrea Kulish's studio and gallery inside Pink Dog Creative at 344 Depot Street in Asheville's River Arts District. Andrea is a first-generation Ukrainian American artist who learned pysanky, the Ukrainian art of decorating eggs with wax and dye, from her mother when she was five. Three of her eggs are in the Pysanka Museum in Kolomyya, Ukraine. Alongside the eggs you'll find her mixed media art, prints, notecards, stickers and small gifts.

Local's Tip

Want a custom egg for a gift? Order a few weeks ahead, since most designs are made to order.

What the locals say

Andrea teaches hands-on pysanky workshops for all levels, and no experience is needed. Workshops at the studio are by appointment. A few finished egg designs are usually on hand, and the rest are made to order in two to three weeks.
