Out in the Big Barn, we’re celebrating the season’s crowning event: all things sausage, paired with kraut, brews, pretzels, and mustard. 🍻🌭 Get in the spirit with your best Oktoberfest or fall-themed costume (extra points for silly sausage themes)!

🎶 The day will be filled with live polka music from Das OomPapas, a Fermentation Basics demo with Meg Chamberlain of Fermenti Foods, and a live sausage-making demo with Butcher Brian. You’ll also find local artisans and vendors—perfect for holiday shopping—plus our crowd-favorite Adults-Only Musical Chairs (winner takes home a $150 HNG Meat Sampler). For the kids, don’t miss the Pass the Pretzel game, along with pony rides, hay rides, apples, cider, and more as we celebrate the grand finale of fall festivities at the farm.

Just 20 minutes from Asheville in Fairview, Hickory Nut Gap Farm is a vibrant family-owned farm and farm store with a rich heritage dating back to 1916. Known for regenerative farming practices, the farm offers visitors a unique chance to explore pastures, apple orchards, and heritage breed animals while shopping for premium, 100% grassfed beef, pasture-raised pork, and fresh farm goods. The Farm Store is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM, welcoming guests for self-guided tours and picnics.
