Pink Dog studio artist Cindy Walton has work in Abstract in Asheville, a national juried show at UpMarket Gallery downtown. Her piece "Traveling" is a 24 x 48 painting in oil and wax pigment sticks, full of layered color and loose, bold line.

The show brings together abstract work from artists across the continental U.S., playing with color, line, texture, and form. The opening reception is Friday, Oct 9, from 5 to 8 p.m., free and open to everyone.

See it at UpMarket Gallery, 68 N. Market Street, through January 3. Then come by Cindy's studio in Suite 180 at Pink Dog, open Thursday through Saturday, 11 to 4.
