Farmers, bakers and craftspeople set up Saturdays from 9am to noon at 130 Montreat Road through November 21, the last regular market of the year. Shop fall produce, pastured meat, eggs, plants, pottery and baked goods, then walk over to Cherry Street.

Black Mountain Tailgate Market is a producer-only farmers market at First Baptist Church, 130 Montreat Road in Black Mountain, about 15 miles east of Asheville. Farmers, bakers and craftspeople sell produce, pastured meat, eggs, plants, pottery and baked goods on Saturdays from 9am to noon, May through November. Local musicians often play during the market. In December the market moves to separate holiday markets at Foothills Grange and in the Old Town District.

Black Mountain locals walk over on Saturday mornings, and many say it is the friendliest small-town market in the mountains.
