The Bush Farmhouse is a lively South African-inspired restaurant and bar located in a beautifully restored 1912 farmhouse in Black Mountain. Guests enjoy creative cocktails, hearty brunch and dinner, and a warm, open-air atmosphere surrounded by gardens and friendly farm animals. The menu blends local Blue Ridge flavors with South African classics, featuring Chef Mark Henegan’s famous Bobotie, lamb Bunny Chow, salads, breakfast, pies, and creative cocktails. Indoor and outdoor seating, private events, and live music are regular highlights.

Locals rave about the family-friendly ambiance, and kids love spotting chickens, ducks, and "Candy the Pig" in the gardens. Farm-to-table freshness, inventive cuisine, and super-friendly staff make every visit memorable. The outdoor and patio seating are favorites, especially for groups and brunch. Many mention that the service is cheerful, portions hearty, and the cocktails and live music make it a standout for celebrations and everyday outings.
