Weekly Scoop (December 2-8) - Not your average workout with Asheville Fit Tribe 💪 Plus lots to do this week!

Take Your Fitness on an Adventure
with Asheville Fit Tribe

For many, the gym is more than just a hobby, or another routine someone “must do” on their day-to-day checklist. Physical fitness can be a means of therapy just as much as a mission to accomplish body-building goals. While a traditional gym has its own perks and are preferable for some, others want a change of scenery and fresh air. If that sounds like you, look no further than Asheville Fit Tribe!

Founded in September of 2019 by J. Preston Jefferson and Sarah Kleckner, Asheville Fit Tribe is primarily an outdoor fitness group that aims to give clients unlimited access for an affordable price. All fitness levels and all ages are welcome, and a wide variety of workouts are involved in their circuit. Participants not only get personal attention in every class, but they also get a little push from the group. For example, motivational texts are regularly sent to clients to help them remain consistent with their fitness goals.

“We were living in Boston doing online workout videos, and we wanted to impact more lives. We started looking for places that we could launch a fit tribe. Being from the North Carolina area, we came to visit Asheville and realized it felt like home,” says Jefferson. “We started our business to empower the local community through fitness and nutrition in hopes to ultimately reach all people who are seeking a positive community and positive life change.”

Asheville Fit Tribe strives to offer a better personalized option than a lot of typical gyms, that also contributes to the uniqueness of what makes Asheville a special place.

“We want our business to be known as one of the most positive life changing communities in Asheville. A space where all people will become their healthiest through a fun social atmosphere,” Jefferson adds.

The fitness group regularly collaborates with local breweries doing workouts called Training on Tap, which includes workouts followed by a fresh cold one. They host Apartment Workout Parties at local apartment complexes, and go into schools and businesses running workouts for teachers and workers alike. They also partner with local coffee shops, bringing people through their doors while the cafes allow them to market in their space.

One thing that Jefferson recommends when taking your workouts outside is heading to Carrier Park to run, walk, or bike, and then checking out the inside of the Velodrome.
