Asheville Music Hall Prepares
 for What's Next #digAVL Video

A series on how local businesses are adjusting to the COVID-19 crisis

Meet Micah Wheat and Sara Blandin of Asheville Music Hall. During these wild times, they have been hard at work revamping the venue for future re-opening. While things are still uncertain, they remain hopeful and impressed by the community's ability to come together.

See the video interview here!
While we've all had to adjust to the "new normal" (whatever that is), our local business owners and managers each have their own story to tell about how they've been affected and what they are doing during these unprecedented times. Dig Local is proud to partner with our friend, Ann Smith, at Leap Frog Tours to interview some of the awesome folks who make Asheville, Asheville.

The next time you're in downtown Asheville, take some time to check out the street murals on local storefronts.

New murals downtown showcase the Black Lives Matter movement. Small memorials can be found tucked away at the base of trees along the brick sidewalks in remembrance of the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the others whose lives have been lost.

Food Connection Update
Food Connection is very happy to announce a new partnership working with Katie Button Restaurants and MANNA FoodBank through The José Andrés World Central Kitchen program to move fresh meals to our neighbors in need. Chef Katie and crew are currently making 1500 meals per week! These meals are heading to places such as Haywood Street and the Southside Kitchen.

Food Connection is distributing these meals to folks through the Church of the Advocate Sunday meal at Trinity Episcopal, and the Swannanoa Valley Curbside Drive-Thru (Saturdays from 11 am to noon at the parking lot at Symmetry Financial at 204 Whitson) - it’s a real team effort! This will be an ongoing partnership to address hunger in WNC.

Food Connection continues to move 1000 meals a week from the team at Wicked Weed Brewing in partnership with the YMCA and also continues to work with local chefs through the Chef Meal Donations program. Learn more here
