While we've all had to adjust to the "new normal" (whatever that is), our local business owners and managers each have their own story to tell about how they've been affected and what they are doing during these unprecedented times. Dig Local is proud to partner with our friend, Ann Smith, at Leap Frog Tours to interview some of the awesome folks who make Asheville, Asheville.

 AVL 4th of July

 Virtual Celebrations 2020

Perhaps, like us, one of the highlights of your summer is watching the fireworks show in downtown AVL each July 4th. Alas, this f'ing virus has ruined that, too. Not to worry though, the Downtown Association's got your back this year with a virtual online concert series featuring an amazing mix of funk, blues, jazz, bluegrass and more. So, fire up the grill and turn up the volume.

Check out this amazing lineup:

 Food Connection Update
Food Connection is partnering with Chef Clarence Robinson of Cooking with Comedy to feed folks as far away as Sandy Mush and also our heroes at the Veterans Restoration Quarters. Check out this WLOS story...and damn, that mac n' cheese looks on point!

And heads up, if you need a free meal on July 4th Food Connection's Swannanoa Valley Curbside Drive-Thru will take place from 11am to noon at the parking lot at Symmetry Financial at 204 Whitson featuring meals by Katie Button and Chef Matt Brown. And a second free meal with Church of the Advocate will take place on Sunday at Trinity Episcopal downtown AVL at 2:30.
