Sober curious? Try Sovereign Kava

We recently sat down with Tom Scheve the General Manager at Asheville’s Sovereign Kava and is a co-owner of Shakedown Kava Lounge in Hendersonville. This place is fun, y'all, and according to Tom, “whether you’re sober, sober-ish, or neither, the vibe of this place, and the nightly entertainment is enough to change anyone’s headspace before we’ve served you a single one of our weird-ass drinks." There's a wide array of options for those staying fully sober, but mainly they are serving up "ethnobotanical, head-changing teas that deliver an unmissable, unmistakeable, happy, euphoric, peaceful buzz." And did we mention the entertainment? (live music, ping pong, open mic, dog friendly)💥

Nude Humans Coming to Asheville
Humans have always been fascinated by other nude humans. Depictions date all the way back to 28,000-25,000 BC. There's a new nude exhibit in the River Arts District opening on February 4th at Pink Dog Creative - "The Nude - Beauty, Grace, and Form: Celebrating the Human Figure." Pictured: "Storyboard" Tripoli, 2023, charcoal on paper - started from life at the Rusty Lotus Figure Study Immersion Event.

BBQ Fans - Check out Sunday's Pop-Up

We are digging the Pop-Up series that Chef Goff has started hosting at Tastee Diner. This Sunday at 6:30pm Chef Tom LaFauci takes over Tastee for a "Smoked by Twisted Laurel" Pop-Up. All proteins are of the highest quality, seasoned simply, and cooked slowly over oak until meltingly tender.  Guests can then enjoy their meal simply presented sliced on a butcher paper covered tray or with fresh flavors designed to highlight the meats. Meat tacos and sides also available.
