Where to Go, What to Do, Everyday

Dig Local - Weekly Scoop : August 13 - August 19, 2018 - Asheville, NC

“Most people don't know I had never worked in a restaurant before I opened this place. I approached it with a total customer experience background. I always remembered those who treated me well at an establishment and how that made me feel. My team feels the same way and we know how to make sure our customers have a great experience.”
-Kirsten Fuchs, Owner, Baked Pie Company

From local peach, honey pecan, blueberry crumble, to black bottom mocha and gluten-free peanut butter chip… Everyone can appreciate a good slice of made from scratch homemade pie. But where can you get one other than your grandma’s house? Well, about two years ago, Kirsten Fuchs and her daughter were plagued with the same exact question, and Kirsten decided to take action.

“I have a background in business management and a love of all things baked! So, I began to search for a location, a baker and a network of local suppliers to turn my idea into a reality!”

Bringing her entrepreneurial spirit forward, Kirsten took a leap of faith and created Baked Pie Company... In April 2017, the first official store opened in South Asheville, and now, with a second location in Reynold’s Village of North Asheville, it’s clear to see that a one-stop shop for homemade pies is a huge hit in Asheville!

While Kirsten has learned a lot about pie in the time that Baked has been open, her goal for the business is to maintain “a welcoming, fun place to visit with the most delicious homemade pies you’ve ever tasted!” This warm and homey environment is felt immediately upon walking in the door, so if you’re ever looking for your home away from home, head over to Baked Pie Company and grab a slice! Kirsten and her team will be happy to see you. (Heads up that they’re closed on Mondays.)

We’ll leave you with one last awesome fact. Did you know that Kirsten donates all of Baked’s leftover pies to ABCCM through our nonprofit Food Connection to feed those in need?
