The Odd is a West Asheville dive bar and live music venue on Haywood Road, known around town as much for its oddities-museum decor as for its calendar. The all-ages room books drag, burlesque, punk, metal, comedy, magic nights, and game nights across the week, and it stays open late every day. Hustle Souls is an Asheville soul band that blends retro soul, brass band funk and singer-songwriter Americana, with B3 organ, horns and three-part vocal harmonies behind original songs. Music Connection named the band one of its Hot 100 Live Unsigned Artists, and it released its vinyl debut in 2024. Independent Arts and Music of Asheville, or IamAVL, is a nonprofit that live streams, records and archives Asheville live music so local musicians and artists reach a bigger audience. WPVM, now on air as Radio Asheville 103.7 FM, is an independent, listener-supported community radio station serving Asheville and Western North Carolina. The Joint Next Door is a neighborhood bar at 1185 Charlotte Highway in Fairview, about 20 minutes east of Asheville, sharing a parking lot with The Local Joint restaurant. It has a small-town bar feel and nightly live music, mostly rock, country, blues and Americana, with no cover for most shows, and an open jam night with the King Street House Band.
