Battery Park Book Exchange & Champagne Bar is a used and rare bookstore and champagne bar at 1 Page Avenue in the historic Grove Arcade in downtown Asheville. More than 10,000 books fill two floors, from Civil War and U.S. history to art and design, award-winning fiction, classics, first editions and signed copies. The bar pours champagne by the glass, bottle or flight, plus wine, beer and literary cocktails like the Great Gatsby, with cheese and charcuterie boards, paninis, salads and soups, and you can carry a drink while you browse. Thomas Wright opened the shop in 2009 and moved it to the Grove Arcade in 2011.
Local's Tip
Come Friday or Saturday evening from 5:30 to 7:30, or Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5, for live music. It's closed Tuesdays, and Sunday brunch starts at noon.
