Since it's opening in 1969, Appalachian Ski Mtn. has been family owned and operated. Appalachian Ski Mtn. has twelve slopes including two terrain parks and a full-service lodge and restaurant to best accommodate its guests.

App Ski is affordable, everyone who worked there was very nice, they seem to care about the customer, they have flexible options when it comes to lift tickets. Kids 5 and under are free. The slopes are great for beginners, they have 2 bunny slopes.

Recess is a locally owned, rider driven skateboard and snowboard shop. Catering to the high country, Recess offers a great selection of products from the best skate and snow brands around!

This shop is the reason I’ll always support local shops over the big box stores. The family-like atmosphere is awesome here at Recess and just an overall great place to be. The staff was super helpful and knowledgable, they hooked me up!

Center 45's mission is to be Boone, NC's indoor climbing and fitness hub, providing the High Country climbing community a central, comfortable, and welcoming location for climbing and training.

Center 45 is a great bouldering gym there are lots of routes and lots of variety. Good vibes and nice folks. Not only is it great for climbing, but there are also convenient workout areas with free weights and mats.
