Back at Catawba to welcome in Spring 2022! See you there

Catawba Brewing Company is one of Western North Carolina’s pioneering craft breweries, established in 1999 and a central player in Asheville’s beer scene. Known for relaxed hospitality and a broad array of rotating house brews, Catawba’s Asheville taproom on Banks Avenue featured 30 taps, guided tastings, and North Carolina’s oldest barrel-aging program in its intimate Rickhouse bar. 

As of March 2025, the South Slope location is closing, but Catawba has announced plans to reopen at a new Asheville spot later this spring. Their commitment to approachable, high-quality beer, friendly service, and vibrant community events remains as strong as ever.

Asheville locals appreciate Catawba for its extensive beer selection, dog-friendly atmosphere, and laid-back taproom vibe where craft beer newbies and regulars are equally welcome. The Rickhouse, lined with aging whiskey barrels, became a favorite for sampling barrel-aged sours and experimental small-batch creations.
