RendezVous & Bouchon owner, Michel Baudouin, grew up on a 200-year-old farm near France’s Rhône Valley. His affinity for fine food and wine comes naturally — his father, Emile, was the village’s premier amateur winemaker. Mother Antonia’s way with a roast duck had neighbors and friends “coincidentally” dropping by at dinner time every Sunday. After many years in downtown Asheville and after befriending many of the locals, Michel wanted to give a little something back. So, when the opportunity for another little farm house-style restaurant came about, he bought a church in Haw Creek.
