Serafina Dark Forest Ice Cream returns to all locations of The Hop Ice Cream on Friday, April 5th! Serafina Dark Forest is a dark cherry ice cream swirled with Hop-made cherry preserves, flecked chocolate, and whipped cream. This flavor was created for Asheville and New York Times Best Selling author, Robert Beatty, and his Serafina and the Black Cloak book series. It is modeled after a black forest cake. Serafina spends a great deal of time in the dark forests surrounding the Biltmore Estate in the books 🙂

The Hop Ice Cream has been an Asheville institution since 1978, with imaginative and locally-influenced flavors. Owners Ashley and Greg Garrison opened their first downtown location at S&W Market. The menu features homemade dairy and vegan ice creams, classic milkshakes, sundaes, desserts, and made-from-scratch waffle cones. The Hop’s flagship flavors (Salted Caramel, Vanilla Bean, and Chocolate) will be offered alongside a variety of staples and rotates flavors — often featuring local ingredients and collaborations with Asheville businesses.
