Vocally driven free range, mountain music with bluegrass roots, country heart and honky tonk wings.

12 Bones Smokehouse and Brewing in Arden pairs classic Southern BBQ with house-brewed beer from sixteen revolving taps. The brewery was added in 2019, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, including a pet-friendly patio near the train tracks.

Meats are smoked low and slow over oak and cherry, and everything is made from scratch. Expect ribs, pulled pork and daily specials alongside ales, lagers, seasonals and collaborations.

Locals appreciate how accessible and friendly 12 Bones feels, with many saying it’s a top spot for BBQ in Asheville. The ribs especially get a lot of love, with popular sauces like chipotle blueberry giving the usual smoky flavors a fun twist.

The sides like mac and cheese and smoked potato salad round out meals nicely, making it a favorite for both casual dinners and weekend meetups.

The brewery taps bring in a steady crowd of craft beer fans who enjoy trying new ales and lagers brewed on site. It’s a place where regulars and visitors alike feel comfortable and welcome.
