On Thursday, January 16th, we invite you to join us for a free Community Scoop, a small gesture to bring big smiles. Please feel free to spread the word!
Community Scoops began as a pay-it-forward initiative—a way for people from all over the world to support both The Hop and the Asheville community in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Through this initiative, supporters purchased scoops of ice cream online and in our shops, which will now be gifted to community members who could use a little extra sweetness in their lives.
This day wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of so many individuals who purchased Community Scoops after Helene. Many thanks to all of you for your acts of kindness ❤

The Hop Ice Cream has been an Asheville institution since 1978, with imaginative and locally-influenced flavors. Owners Ashley and Greg Garrison opened their first downtown location at S&W Market. The menu features homemade dairy and vegan ice creams, classic milkshakes, sundaes, desserts, and made-from-scratch waffle cones. The Hop’s flagship flavors (Salted Caramel, Vanilla Bean, and Chocolate) will be offered alongside a variety of staples and rotates flavors — often featuring local ingredients and collaborations with Asheville businesses.
