The Dirty French Broads aren’t from France and they’re not all “broads,” but they are dirty — at least by Asheville standards. Named after the famously funky (and deeply beloved) French Broad River that winds through their hometown — this spirited Appalachian band blends Americana grass with an infectious rowdiness, and a dash of storytelling that’s both hilarious and heartfelt.
In a world of big box stores and oatmeal raisin cookies, their authenticity and charisma make their shows feel like a front porch party where everyone’s invited, nobody’s judging, and someone definitely brought buffalo chicken dip.
