Join us as we celebrate the night sky of autumn and one of the most spectacular celestial events of the year — the Leonid Meteor Shower! Our friend, astronomer, author, and natural storyteller Stephan Martin will guide us through the bright and splendid starscape of a crisp fall evening in the mountains. As meteors streak across the heavens, Steve will offer an orientation to the stars, constellations, and planets of the late fall sky. This is a wonderful time to see Saturn shining near its brightest for the year and to glimpse the majestic Andromeda Galaxy — a perfect target for binoculars! We’ll also look back at the fading stars of summer, including the Summer Triangle, Scorpius the Scorpion, and Sagittarius the Archer, while welcoming the constellations of autumn such as Pegasus the Winged Horse, Cygnus the Swan, and Lyra, the Lyre of Orpheus.
