House of Hamill owes its existence almost entirely to a series of canceled flights. Rose Baldino and Brian Buchanan first performed together at the 2014 Folk Alliance International conference, when weather prevented two members of Rose’s band from arriving. Determined to salvage the showcase, Rose handed Brian a guitar and pulled him onstage, sparking an instant musical connection. Four years later, another round of canceled flights—this time for their hired festival band—led to a chance collaboration with bassist Caroline Browning. The chemistry was undeniable, and House of Hamill officially became a trio.

Olivette is a 411-acre agrihood community and historic farm situated along the French Broad River, just about 7 miles from downtown Asheville. It integrates sustainable farming with residential living, featuring a vibrant vegetable, fruit, and flower farm, miles of walking trails, seven acres of private riverfront beach, and a unique river island with a ceremony bridge. The community includes new, energy-efficient homes set amongst wildflowers, forests, and scenic river views. It serves as a serene retreat showcasing regenerative agriculture, nature connection, and family-friendly events.

Locals love Olivette for its peaceful natural setting and dedication to sustainability. The farm offers fresh seasonal produce through Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), with weekly pickup options and regular farm events.
