Asheville’s Award-Winning Scottish Supergroup
From the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, an area historically settled by Highland Scots who made their music part of Appalachian culture, comes a new American Scottish supergroup: GLENCOE.
Glencoe boasts a two-time National Scottish Fiddle Champion and a four-time National Scottish Harp Champion among its members, and is one of the only North American groups to incorporate all three of Scotland’s national instruments (bagpipes, fiddle and harp) in its lineup. Adopting the name of both a historic village in Scotland and an early settlement near Asheville (now part of Pisgah National Forest), Glencoe honors the Scottish connection with the group’s mountain home.

White Horse Black Mountain is a beloved intimate music hall located in downtown Black Mountain, NC. With a cozy capacity of approximately 150-180 seats, this venue is celebrated as a true “listening room” where the focus is squarely on the music and the artist-audience connection. In addition to live concerts featuring genres from jazz and bluegrass to rock and Americana, 

White Horse also hosts storytelling nights, theater, poetry readings, puppetry, and community fundraisers. The venue prides itself on outstanding acoustics, comfortable seating with sofas and tables, and a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Owned and curated by music industry veteran Bob Hinkle, White Horse Black Mountain fosters a vibrant cultural hub for Western North Carolina.
