Joshua Ty Batenhorst is a singer-songwriter who cuts to the bone like the Texas legends he grew up with musically - Robert Earl Keen, Lyle Lovett, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Joe Ely and all them boys. He has brought tales to the stage form authors as diverse as David Sedaris and William Shakespeare and in his current creative phase he turns his attention to the song form. His songwriting has garnered attention - he was a finalist for the Newsong Music National Songwriting Contest and has been featured on compilations with the likes of Leftover Salmon, Amanda Anne Platte and Woody Wood.
