The Scoop

Mishka Frith grew up on a sailboat, island-hopping through the Caribbean with his Bermudian father and Nova Scotian mother — an upbringing that made roots reggae feel less like a genre and more like the natural language of his world. He signed to Creation Records in the late '90s and had a Top 40 UK hit with "Give You All the Love" in 1999. His 2009 album *Above the Bones* debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae Charts, and *The Journey* (2013) did the same. He worked with Matthew McConaughey's j.k. livin' label, featured Willie Nelson on *Talk About*, and has been a consistent presence on the roots reggae circuit for over two decades. Tuff Sol opens with a reggae and roots set that sets the tone before Mishka takes the stage.
