Superchunk at Eulogy

The Scoop

Superchunk are Chapel Hill legends — one of the defining indie rock bands of the 1990s and, remarkably, still an active and vital band more than three decades in. Mac McCaughan and Laura Ballance co-founded Merge Records, which went on to release records by Arcade Fire, Spoon, and Neutral Milk Hotel. The band itself never stopped being excellent. A Superchunk show at Eulogy in Asheville is the kind of night that doesn't happen often — a genuinely legendary act in a 300-capacity South Slope room. Expect fast, melodic, loud guitar rock delivered by a band that has been playing together long enough to make it look effortless. Wednesday April 22, 8pm at Eulogy, 10 Buxton Ave, South Slope Asheville NC. Live indie rock in Asheville — one of the most important bands in American underground music.
