Pianist and composer Max Ribner brings the Freedom Family Band and ANZA to AyurPrana Listening Room on Thursday, May 28th. Doors open at 6 PM with music beginning at 6:30 PM. Ribner's work finds the common threads between jazz, soul, and classical music — exploring what connects those traditions rather than what separates them. The Freedom Family Band adds communal warmth to Ribner's compositional approach, and ANZA rounds out the ensemble with additional textural depth. Together they create music rooted in Black American musical traditions while reaching toward something more expansive and personal. Tickets start at $29.21 via DICE. Note: Max Ribner also leads a Resilient Beings choral workshop at APLR earlier the same day (doors 11:30 AM, workshop noon, $34.72) — a rare chance to experience both his teaching and performing in a single visit.
