Asheville Drum Circle at Pritchard Park

The Scoop

Every Friday evening, the heart of downtown Asheville comes alive with rhythm at the Asheville Drum Circle in Pritchard Park. Drummers, dancers, and spectators gather at the corner of Patton and Haywood for one of the city's most iconic community traditions. Bring a drum, a tambourine, or just your feet. The circle typically forms around 6 PM and builds through the evening, drawing locals and visitors into an open, freeform musical experience. There's no stage, no setlist, and no cover charge. Just pure, collective groove under the open sky. Running for decades, the drum circle is quintessential Asheville. It's free, it's welcoming, and it's the kind of thing you have to experience at least once. Street performers, fire spinners, and dancers often add to the scene. All ages, all backgrounds, all welcome.
