The second Saturday of Shindig on the Green at Pack Square Park. Old-time and bluegrass musicians gather on the Roger McGuire Green for an evening of mountain music, flatfoot dancing, and community. This free weekly series has been a summer staple in downtown Asheville since 1967.

Shows start at 7 PM and run until 10 PM. The Folk Heritage Committee brings together performers from across Western North Carolina to share the region's rich musical traditions. Cloggers, smooth dancers, and square dance callers keep the audience on their feet.

No tickets, no cover, no reservations. Just show up with a chair and settle in. The park is in the heart of downtown so there's no shortage of places to grab dinner before or a drink after.
