Week three of Shindig on the Green brings another evening of bluegrass and old-time music to Pack Square Park. The Roger McGuire Green fills up with families, tourists, and locals who know this is one of Asheville's greatest summer traditions. Free and open to all. Live mountain music from 7 to 10 PM featuring regional artists handpicked by the Folk Heritage Committee. Flatfoot dancers, cloggers, and the occasional impromptu jam session in the crowd make every Saturday different. Now in its 60th year, Shindig on the Green is a living piece of Appalachian culture right in the center of downtown. Pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and enjoy the evening.
