Shindig on the Green at Pack Square Park

Shindig on the Green returns after a one-week break with more mountain music at Pack Square Park. The Roger McGuire Green hosts bluegrass and old-time performers every Saturday evening through August, courtesy of the Folk Heritage Committee. Music runs from 7 to 10 PM. Expect banjos, fiddles, guitars, and upright bass alongside flatfoot dancing and clogging demonstrations. The event has drawn locals and visitors to downtown Asheville every summer since 1967. Free admission, no tickets needed. Bring a lawn chair, a blanket, and whoever you want to share a summer evening with. Food and drinks are available at nearby downtown restaurants.
