Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals at The Orange Peel

Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals at The Orange Peel plays The Orange Peel on Thursday, September 17. Doors open ahead of showtime; check ticketing for age policy and cover.

The Orange Peel is a live music venue and concert hall at 101 Biltmore Ave in downtown Asheville, open since 2002 and booking national touring acts across rock, hip-hop, indie, electronic and more. The room holds about 1,050, so you stay close to the stage even at a sold-out show, and the wooden dance floor has some spring to it. Downstairs, Pulp is a 21-and-up bourbon bar and lounge with its own smaller shows.

Locals say the sound at The Orange Peel is exceptional for a room this size, so you can hear every instrument even on a packed Saturday night. It's a room worth showing up early for, from sold-out indie nights to hip-hop headliners.
