Ripe at Asheville Music Hall plays Wednesday, October 7. Boston funk band that's been around since 2016. They put out their album Bright Blues in 2020 and do this high-energy thing mixing horns with dance grooves. They tour pretty heavily and have built up a solid college town following. The room sits upstairs from The One Stop, so you can catch an early set downstairs then head up for the late show without moving your car in that cramped Biltmore district lot. The standing-room setup holds around 500 and the sound hits hard, which works for the funk-heavy touring acts that roll through. Shows tend to start late and pull a younger crowd that's down to stay until close.
