Friday night at Town Pump in Black Mountain, 9pm start. Good spot for a weekend hang if you want to get out of Asheville proper without going too far. The walls are plastered floor-to-ceiling with signed dollar bills and decades of random junk, the kind of accumulation that only happens when a dive bar stays put since the early '80s. It's cash-only, tight quarters for maybe 45 people, and if the interior gets claustrophobic there's a patio out back where you can actually hear yourself think between sets.
