PostDiluvian Exhibition Opening Reception at Pink Dog Creative

Two Asheville artists who experienced the devastation of Hurricane Helene in the River Arts District will present new work created in the two years since the flood. The exhibition, titled PostDiluvian, features Chrys Corn Goodman and Maryana Rivera, both of whom were represented in the district when the hurricane struck in September 2024. The show explores themes of restoration, hope, brokenness and resilience.

Chrys Corn Goodman is a figurative abstract painter who works in oil and wax. Her pieces incorporate drawing, painting, writing, embedded found objects and gold leaf, combining representational and abstract elements. Maryana Rivera is a relief printmaker from Atlanta who finds the medium meditative and satisfying. Both artists maintain studios in the River Arts District.

The opening reception takes place Friday, September 25 from 5 to 8 PM at Pink Dog Creative, 348 Depot Street in the River Arts District. The exhibition runs through October 25, and both artists will attend the opening.
