The Blackbird is a chef-owned spot on Biltmore Avenue downtown, in the Aloft hotel building, cooking New American food with Southern roots and plenty from local farms. Chef Michael Reppert came up through Boston kitchens after Le Cordon Bleu, worked his way to executive chef here, and took over as owner in 2019 with partner John Tressler.

Brunch runs every day from 10 to 2:30, and dinner starts at 5, until 9 Sunday through Thursday and 10 on Friday and Saturday. The Goat Cheese Corn Pie is the dish people come back for, and the plates change with the seasons, from seared scallops and mussels at dinner to steak and eggs and cinnamon rolls at brunch. The bar has local beer on tap, a wine list and cocktails.
