This downtown pub keeps it stripped down, players and listeners share the same floor with zero separation, just house lights and whoever showed up to pick. The room's been hosting jams and trad sessions since '97, so the setup stays true to what works for old-time and bluegrass: close quarters, good beer on eighteen taps, and nothing between the music and the room.

Jack of the Wood is a downtown Asheville Celtic pub on Patton Avenue, hosting live music nights since 1997. Bluegrass jams, Irish folk sessions, and rotating bands fill the room most nights of the week.
