The Scoop
Friday night at Town Pump in Black Mountain, 9pm start. Good spot for a weekend hang if you want to get out of Asheville proper without going too far. Wednesdays from six to eight bring acoustic sets from solo acts in this cash-only room that's been pouring drinks since the early eighties. The intimate setup means forty-five people max, so you're basically sitting in someone's living room while they work through their catalog.
