Fontaines D.C. plays Wednesday, October 7. Post-punk band from Dublin that formed in 2014. Their debut album Dogrel came out in 2019 and got them a ton of attention in the UK and beyond. Raw guitar-driven sound with Grian Chatten's distinctive vocals leading the charge.

The Orange Peel was designed to handle volume, so when bands push it the room responds exactly how it should. The standing floor packs in close to 950 people and the sound system hits hard without turning into mush. Downtown Biltmore location means parking takes some planning, but once you're inside it's all about the sonics.

The Orange Peel is a live music venue and concert hall at 101 Biltmore Ave in downtown Asheville, open since 2002 and booking national touring acts across rock, hip-hop, indie, electronic and more. The room holds about 1,050, so you stay close to the stage even at a sold-out show, and the wooden dance floor has some spring to it. Downstairs, Pulp is a 21-and-up bourbon bar and lounge with its own smaller shows.

Locals say the sound at The Orange Peel is exceptional for a room this size, so you can hear every instrument even on a packed Saturday night. It's a room worth showing up early for, from sold-out indie nights to hip-hop headliners.
