Celebrate family at a free Día de Muertos afternoon from Asheville Parks & Recreation, with traditional crafts, food, music, face painting and an ofrenda.

It's Saturday, October 24, from 2 to 4 PM at the Stephens-Lee Center, 30 George Washington Carver Blvd. All ages are welcome, and kids under 14 need an adult. Bring the whole family and add to the ofrenda.

Asheville Parks & Recreation runs the City of Asheville's parks, community centers, pools and greenways, with more than 50 parks across town. Highlights include the 17,000 square foot Asheville Skatepark downtown, with a beginner bowl, a street course and an advanced vertical bowl, and Splasheville, the splash pad in Pack Square Park.
