Stephen King's Misery takes the stage at NC Stage this fall. Novelist Paul Sheldon survives a car crash in a Colorado snowstorm, only to wake up in the care of Annie Wilkes, his self-proclaimed number one fan. Then she finds out what he did to her favorite character. William Goldman's stage adaptation is a tense, darkly funny battle of wills, and it plays in NC Stage's intimate black box theater downtown. Shows run Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 2 through Nov. 1. Opening week, Oct. 14 to 16, is Choose Your Price, so it's the cheapest way to see it. Adult seats run $27 to $54 after that, and students are $15. Get your tickets now.
