Friday before Halloween at the Music Hall, so you know it's gonna be a scene. The Friends lineup means you're getting a solid night of variety, and that room handles a weekend crowd well.

Most shows at this 500-cap room upstairs above One Stop run through Etix, so grab tickets there before heading downtown. Parking around the Biltmore area gets tight, especially when the place fills up for late-night sets.

Asheville Music Hall is a downtown Asheville concert venue on Patton Avenue that brings in national touring acts, rising bands and local favorites in a room that feels big but still personal. The sound and lights are dialed in for rock, indie, hip-hop, electronic and pop shows, and the layout lets you get close to the stage or step back for a breather. The One Stop is its smaller sister room in the same building.

Locals count on Asheville Music Hall for consistent shows, friendly staff and a smooth night from the door to the encore. The crowds are into it but respectful, and it's a good place to catch a band before they blow up.
